Sacred Acre is such a hidden gem that we will treasure forever. It is located in Ninilchik, Alaska just a three and a half hour shuttle ride from Anchorage Airport. We first embarked our journey on the Red Eye Rides shuttle with our wonderful driver, Natalie. She got us there safely around 2AM. Upon arriving, members of the Sacred Acre team were there to greet us. The entire team showed The Festival Babes amazing hospitality that we’re forever grateful for. Soon, we settled down, unpacked, and quickly fell asleep because we had to be up bright and early for Bumpin’ On The Bay the next morning.

One of my favorite excursions at Sacred Acre was Bumpin’ On The Bay. I love going boating and have been to other boat rave events before, but to experience such a thing in ALASKA, was unreal. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking everywhere we looked. They even had drinks and snacks for us during the three hour long tour of Kachemak Bay. On top of that, one of my favorite artists on
the festival lineup, The Sponges performed. One of my favorite moments during this excursion was hearing “Shiver” by John Summit being played. I looked around and everyone was singing at the top of their lungs and dancing. It made me realize how beautiful life is. It was a very sentimental moment and all I could think was “wow, when will I ever be listening and dancing to John Summit in Alaska with my favorite group of girls again?” The vibes were immaculate and it is a core memory I will remember forever.

The sets at this festival were honestly something else. Due to how small of a festival Sacred Acre is, the sets felt a lot more intimate than they do at other festivals. Upon talking with the babes, I’m finding the collective favorite of the weekend was Dirtwire! Dirtwire brought a sound sort of different from what we’re used to, but it paid off. We danced the whole set to rhe live band, wubz and country twang. And the cherry on top? Some rain, which created the most beautiful glitter lasers!! The main artist talked about by us all weekend was Zingara! A lot of us were excited to see her for the first time, and what a great set it was! She took us on a beautiful journey of song and dance. We ended the set feeling lighter and happier. After Zingara, we wrapped up the night with Peekaboo. None of us could stop dancing or smiling. He put on a dang show!! On night one, Wreckno took us on a sassy, girl power trip with his set. I didn’t see one person not moving and grooving with his flow. Wreckno is unique in the sense he does his own music, AND vocals. Talk about talent.

Although the sets and the excursions were absolutely incredible, far surpassing any
expectations that had been set prior to going, truly the best part of the entire trip was our camping set up and those who were there! “Wook Sorority” is what we had ended up referring to as our little sisterhood for the weekend. The Sacred Acre staff was so welcoming, thoughtful, and overall just incredible for what the team has set up for us. Within the walls of the afters, there was a secret room that housed small cubby-like color coded rooms for each girl. A bed, a charging cable, blankets, towels, nightlight, and even little fairy lights hung above each individual room. They had put so much effort into “cutie-ing” up the space for us and it seriously showed! We turned the space into our little home fo the weekend, it felt like living in a sorority house. Waking up in the morning and peaking your head into the room next to yours to see if anyone was awake to start the day with you. I feel as though with how much love was put into developing this space for us, set up the environment for all of us to grow close with love for one another too. Staying in such a sweetly curated space allowed all of us girlies to unwind and spend a vast amount of time together, really enforcing the community aspect of festivals. All of us grew close, every day starting with shared giggles and every night ending in shared smiles. Our little wook sorority thrived in the walls of the afters, and I wouldn’t have wished it any other way.

Our trip was nothing less than special. The vibes and the atmosphere were incredible. We could not have asked for a better crew and to be surrounded by better people. Everyone in Alaska was so friendly and always looked out for us. All of us agreed we loved Sacred Acre and hope to attend again next year. It was so hard to say goodbye to this group of girls. The friendships formed throughout the weekend will last years and years. The Festival Babes truly pave ways to unite and connect women everywhere. It was truly the most amazing, transformative, and healing experience.
