Chicago heats up as Lollapalooza, or “Lolla” as the locals call it, welcomes festival goers from all walks of life for a plethora of talent with its 2022 lineup. The festival is set to take place at Grant Park in Chicago, IL on July 28-31. It’s not surprising that yet again Lolla has made headlines across the world as artists like Metallica, Dua Lipa, J.Cole, and Machine Gun Kelly prepare to grace its stages in The Windy City.
This year’s lineup returns in full force with a whopping 170+ artists across 8 stages. Though Lolla presents a strong lineup of headliners, it’s the lesser known artists who really draw the loyal, intimate fans who discern the attention of true music lover, as opposed to music appreciators, whom we might say rely too heavily on their ‘Discover Weekly’ playlists.
Lollapalooza offers a wide variety of genres to satisfy the preferences of all music lovers. House music, however, continues to make waves as influential artists like Chris Lorenzo, MK, Kaskade and Duke Dumont take the stage. Several breakthrough artists such as Dominic Fike and Gayle also join the festival as TikTok catapults them to global notoriety. (*Hint hint: All artists are hyperlinked to their Spotify profiles so you can check them out beforehand!)
One of Lollapalooza’s many allures outside of music is their extensive food truck selection. This is something many festivals fall short of in both variety, and in quality. Chow
Town, introducing 40+ vendors, is bringing many of Chicago’s finest food and drink vendors with gluten free and vegan options to the festival grounds. This will help to ensure that there is something for everyone! Kidzapalooza also returns this year, granting free entry to children under 10 years old and making it the perfect opportunity to coerce your younger siblings into becoming budding rave babies. We’re kidding… maybe?
No matter what your music preference is, Lolla is the perfect opportunity to bring all of your friends and family of all ages together for an experience that everyone can enjoy. We suggest not missing the following acts for a variety of impeccable vibes underneath the blitzing Chicago Sun: Manchester Orchestra, The Wombats, LP Giobbi, Young Franco, Don Toliver, Rezz, King Princess, Black Coffee, Liquid Stranger, Willow, Local Natives, and Caroline Polachek.
