Nashville Vibes: My Festival Adventure in The Heart of Music City at Deep Tropics

I received the amazing opportunity with my agencyThe Festival Babes to attend the Deep Tropics Music Festival in Nashville, Tennesse. As a Miami girl, I was so excited to explore this city and attend a music festival I had heard so many incredible stories about. I decided to accept the offer because of my curiosity in seeing how the Nashville crowd parties and celebrities their love of music and I was craving an escape from the day-to-day with a new adventure. I hoped to experience some epiphanies that weekend as many of the music festivals I frequent have been a source of growth and self-realization. Of course, the appeal of the bass pumping through my chest and dancing my heart away in the cute outfits I planned with my friends will always inspire me to attend festivals, there is so much more to a festival than that. I also wanted to be a part of a community that promotes peace, love, unity, and respect and spread that love to those who were attending alongside me.

Arriving to Nashville from LAX was a smooth 2-hour flight and upon landing, I could already smell the yummy food they had to offer I noticed some travelers with pashminas in the rideshare area of BNA, and I knew they were here for the festival.

The next day was the first day of deep tropics. I stayed in an Airbnb 20 minutes from the festival and the commute to the venue was easy and it was not difficult to find. Deep Tropics was held at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, a large open space that was very well organized for a music festival. It was the perfect size, not too intimidating, with plenty of space to lounge, walk around, and dance. My initial thoughts entering the festival were about how attractive everyone walking in was and how excited I was to catch some of my favorite artists performing live.

Some of the notable acts on the lineup I was excited to see included Rohaan, Zingara, Nora en pure, Kaskade, and Sofi Tukker. I thoroughly enjoyed dancing to Rohaan’s set as the sun was setting. It is an indescribable feeling of happiness in dancing as if no one is watching and also seeing the crowd around you doing the same. The sound engineers were on point because the music was just the right volume and I could feel the bass in my soul. That was an incredibly memorable moment for me. Another core memory was the energy at the Sofi Tukker set. The whole crowd was magnetic and elevated by the performance. Every single person was bringing the energy powered by their music. Deep Tropics also had plenty of culinary choices to pick from. I frequented the sober bar every day I attended and the drinks with adaptogenics and nootropics tasted so sweet and also elevated my mood! In terms of food Chivanada and Fistful of Tacos made my mouth water that weekend. Chivanada is self-proclaimed “best empanadas in Nashville” and as a Latina woman, I can attest they were. These empanadas were perfectly cooked and with options for all types of diets including vegans and vegetarians. Fistful of Tacos had hearty portions with fresh ingredients that gave me the energy to dance for the rest of the night.

The festival had other activities aside from the musical performances. Some of these include a drum circle, yoga flow, comedy shows, and higher consciousness workshops. I did not participate this time but I am more inclined to experience the massages and deep breathing workshops they held in the next year I attend after seeing the story posts from my friends of those activities.

My encounters with fellow festival-goers were so positive! Everyone at Deep Tropics was so kind and respectful. The crowd's energy plays a huge role in the overall experience of a festival and they passed the vibe check. The Overall vibe and community spirit of the festival was pure joy and connection. The festival attendees were open to conversation and incredibly mindful of the people around them.

In conclusion, attending Deep Tropics is an experience you don’t want to miss. By embracing the event with an open mind, staying hydrated, and sharing the joy with close friends, you’ll ensure a magical time filled with unforgettable music and memories. From the vibrant atmosphere to the eclectic performances, Deep Tropics has something for everyone. I’m already looking forward to going back—it's a celebration that truly lives up to the hype!
